horizons

These pieces explore the juxaposition of emptiness and fullness. They read as a horizon line simply because of where the two colors meet on the canvas. They ask where the potential lies and if it is in the nothingness, how do we recognize it? Or is it in every emptiness? I tried to use many thin layers of the paint to create the lushness that is always there. These pieces were also inspired by many road trips across the middle of the plain states, U.S.A.
